Credit Cards Security

Security Tips: Credit Card Fraud Prevention

1. Immediately on receipt, inspect your Credit Card carrier envelope carefully. If it appears to have been tampered with, please call SambaPhone immediately on 800 55000.

2. Sign your Credit Card as soon as you receive it.

3. Save the Samba Customer Service telephone numbers on your mobile phone. In the UAE, call 80055000. If you are overseas, call 00971 4 7091650 (these numbers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year).

4. Memorise your PIN numbers. Create PIN numbers that are not obvious for people to guess.

5. Always shield your PIN at cash points and do not write it down or disclose it to anyone, even Samba personnel. Don't write your PIN number on your Credit Card or have it anywhere near your Credit Card (in the event that your wallet is stolen).

6. Treat your Credit Cards like cash. Never let your CreditCards out of your sight when paying in shops or restaurants.

7. Always shred receipts from card transactions and ATMs once you have checked these against your statement.

8. Always void and destroy incorrect receipts and never sign a blank card receipt.

9. Report lost or stolen cards immediately to SambaPhone on 800 55000.

10. Notify the Bank of any change in address, company, home or mobile telephone numbers or email address. This will allow us to keep you updated on your transactions via Samba Transaction Alerts and any other important information. Samba Transaction Alerts are free and will keep you instantly alerted via SMS every time a transaction is made on your Samba Credit Card.

11. Open Credit Card bills promptly and make sure that the transactions are in order. Treat your CreditCard bill like your bank account statement - reconcile it monthly, report any incorrect transactions immediately.

12. If you don't receive your statement or Credit Card, or your mail appears to have been tampered with, please call SambaPhone immediately on 800 55000.

13. Keep your personal documents and statements safely out of sight. Ideally, these should be locked away in a secure home safe.

14. Shred any correspondence that contains personal details before throwing it away.

15. If you store personal information on your PC or laptop, install up-to-date security software to protect it.

16. Never reveal your Credit Card information over the phone.

17. Never respond to emails that request you to provide your Credit Card information via email - especially emails that ask you to go to a website to verify personal or Credit Card information.

18. Always destroy Credit Cards when they expire by cutting them in half through the magnetic strip.
